education

Allegory of the cave- what do you think are the qualities of an "enlightened", educated person? How does your idea about education relate to the education of the prisoner in Plato's cave story?.
Reality is trying to achieve both truth and understanding. There is no such thing as 'Reality", until you truly be aware of and live life. Reality is a perspective accepted by a person as being true because of what they have been seen. When Plato's man was bound in chains, did he not have his reality? For him, the cave and shadows were his reality. He broke free of the chains, which resulted in a shift in point of view. He came to 'realize' that all he came to know before is not real, and that reality is what he experiences and knows. He disregarded his previous awareness of reality but he did this because he saw the truth. Now what happened if this did not happen? Then the man would not be educated and could not understand what life is.
The qualities of a smart man or woman is being able to distinguish what is true and being able to accept what truth is. Being able to leave your mother's nest and truly understand what life means is a sign of an educated a person. A person who seeks education and enlightment are wise people and because they seek actuality. I want my education to be based on the seeking of truths and news ideas so my soul and mind will rapidly mature. At first my education was about learning the basic skills so I could fully understand the meaning of the scientific method and then I was able to express my own idea"s. You have to build and form your own steps and prisoner does this because he breaks free from his chains. If you don't this then you"ll be in the cave forever.
