Just about half of relationships in the United Stated experience some sort of violence and it needs to be stopped. Women should not have to deal with the abuse that their husbands or boyfriends put them through. People need to speak out and report the abuse and teach children over and over again that abuse is wrong. Battered women who kill their abusers should not receive a harsh penalty. If these women were that emotionally, psychologically, and psychically abused by their partners and there only way out was to kill should be understandable but in order to get away without punishment the battered woman has to be able to prove the abuse in some form or another.
