As I reflect upon the individuals who I have encountered during my life, one really stands out in my mind as an influential person. This person is a young female of similar age to myself. It seems odd that such a young person would influence my life as she did, but she came along at a time in my life when I was lonely, looking for comfort and acknowledgement. She is like a beautiful sunset after a long day an unknowingly beautiful sight, one that wipes away all the problems and hardships, and just makes you thank God for allowing you to be there to bask in it's glory. The first time I saw her was at her baptism. She was wearing a white dress with matching shoes and stockings. Her beautiful dark brown hair, Cream colored complexion, and unforgettable blue eyes instantly caught my attention. As the sunset remains ever-changing, she continues to keep everyone guessing by never acting the same. When Joy died I felt like I needed closure and I spent a lot of time looking for that, which I thought I had found in Melissa. More than anything she put up with so much junk from me while I was trying to find out who I was and what I wanted. For that, I will always have a special place for her in my heart, but, now, I have to give her the time to do the same for herself. So, right now, I guess she would be like a delicate flower, without the right ingredients it will never reach it's full potential. One of the biggest mistakes that I have ever made was asking her for her age and taking her word for it, which got me into a lot of trouble during our relationship. Problems that I never thought would be a concern of mine. Until Joy passed I never cared much for sunsets for some reason, But since she has been gone my feelings toward everything and everybody in my life have changed. In a way Melissa has been the embodiment of my "New Life!".
