             In the first part of this paper I will discuss The Hindutva brand of politics, their organizational set up and their ideology. This is to get a better understanding of the second part of the paper.
             In the second part I have done the analysis of a part of an interview with The Gujarat chief Minister Mr. Narendra Modi when he was chosen as the "Newsmaker of the Year" by "India Today" magazine (issue: December30, 2002). At the end of each answer I have tried to bring out the various techniques of persuasion and the usage of particular words (with propagandistic intent)by Mr.Modi.

             India is a secular democratic country with a population of more than a Billion. Hindus form around 84% of the population and the rest are a diverse mix of Mulims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and other religious groups. .

             Hindutva is a nationalist ideology, based on a modern day version of centralized intolerant Hinduism. It has got nothing to do with the spiritual practice of the Hindu religion. Such fundamental Hinduism - Hindutva - has been brought to the fore front in today by a group of political organizations called the "Sangh Parivar " (Sangh Family) - consisting of the .
             1. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (National Volunteers Association - the mother organization after which the label Sangh parivar is coined).
             2. Bharatiya Janata Party (Indian People Party - Hindutva's constitutional front that contests in elections and does the governing).
             3. Shiv Sena(Lord Shivas army-the fascist front),.
             4. VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad-).
             5. VHPof America (Hindutva's overseas arm) .
             Other than this The "Parivar" has a lot of loosely bound organizations that function with in India like The Bajrang Dal, The Hindu Front etc.
             The origins of Hindutva can be traced back to 1914,with the setting up of The Hindu Mahasaba. It was set up by high caste fundamental Hindus to bring a Hindu nation. Hinduism is an amorphous, polytheistic religion that has a diverse nature.
