Venus is known as earth’s sister planet. In some ways they are very similar. Venus is slightly smaller than Earth (95% of Earths diameter and 80% Earths mass). Both have few craters indicating young surfaces. From the similarities, it was thought that below its dense clouds, Venus might be very earth like and might even have life. However, with more detailed study, Venus is different than Earth in many ways. Venus has a slow rotational period, single plate surface, lack of a satellite, extremely weak magnetic field, lack of water, high surface temperature, and dense atmosphere. These are the differences but we still have a lot to learn about our “Sister Planet.”
