             In the middle ages there were numerous amounts of heroes. The heroes are simple men that have normal lives, and who are leaders based on heart and mind. One must possess valor, loyalty, and honor. .
             A hero fights with great valor to defend his people or tribe at all times. He never turns away from threat or his enemy. The hero also gets tested in physical combat against a monster or another warrior. Most epic heroes" stays in a bad society or in an honor society were your name takes you to far places. The hero usually lives in a hierarchical society that lives by the warrior code. A person that this describes is Beowulf the one that conquered the dragon. Beowulf fought for what was right and whatever he needed to do to keep his people safe. He never bowed to defeat when he said he would do something he would do it. That represents loyalty which also meant a great deal to be a hero. Beowulf showed characteristics of a hero when he accepted the dragon fight. In which he did not expect to return from the fight nonetheless he enters the battle. That showed such courage and loyalty.
             A hero does not always fight for his people at all times of his life. At times he fights for his ideals. The hero task at times is spiritual rather than physical. Although he does not possess all the characteristics that the physical hero possesses he is still a hero. The person that this describes is the Knight out the Bath Tale. The knight was on a mission to find the answer to women wants in life. This was having power just like men. His mission was going to help in future run-ins instead of helping right then and there. This hero showed all the concepts of being an epic hero because he did what he was told to do. .
             Both the heroes are alike despite all the differences that have been put between them. They both share honorable heroic code. They never fight an enemy that is weaker or has a disadvantage to them.
