The Columbine High School shooting was the worst school shooting ever. On April 20th 1999 two boys Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17, went on a killing rampage at Columbine High school in Littleton, CO. They murdered 13 students, one teacher and injured 23 other students before taking their own lives. Many people often wonder why did this happen and could it happen again. Where there hints dropped by the killers that were ignored? Were there changes after the shootings?.
On April 20th the duo arrived in the parking lot of Columbine High School at approximately 11:00 a.m. At about 11:19 a.m. a witness hears one of the suspects say "GO! GO!" both Klebold and Harris pull out there guns and start shooting from the top of the stairs in the cafeteria. At this same time there was a bomb set off three miles away from the campus to be used as a diversion by the two to draw the attention of the local authorities away from them. At 11:26 a.m. reports of shots fired at Columbine High School come into dispatch. At 11:27 the two gunmen throw pipe bombs down a stair well into the cafeteria. The explosions can be seen from outside. At 11:30 they begin shooting the students in the library. At 11:31 smoke is sighted and fire alarms ring through the school. At 11:45 they re-enter the cafeteria where they stay for two and a half minutes. At 11:55 shots were heard fired from the northeast side of the school. At 11:59 they exited through the kitchen area. At 12:06 swat teams enter the school in two different teams. Also at this time a victim is reported to be shot in the head in a room. For the next three hours victims are transported to hospitals and the school is cleared by Swat until the suspects are found dead from apparent suicide or killed by each other.
