George Orwell's Animal Farm

George Orwell's Animal Farm depicts the uprising of animals on Manor Farm. In the beginning of the book, the animals all revolt to drive Mr. Jones, the owner of Manor Farm, away. This was a revolution for the animals. I predict that their situation will change as a result of greed from certain animals. After the revolution they become free of oppression, but they need someone to be their leader; they need someone to tell them what to do. The first animals to take that place were the pigs. Right away there were signs of the pigs taking advantage of their position. They were becoming greedy. The first thing they did was they reserved food for themselves and to restrain from doing any laborious work. These were some of the reasons why the animals drove Mr. Jones away. He kept all their food and they did all the labour. The result of this can only be another revolution. I believe that at some point the animals will realise that once again their form of government is oppressive and will up rise once more to overthrow the pigs. The author is telling his readers that we cannot escape the greed of others; we cannot escape the wrong doings of the people who care only about themselves. There will always be scandal and corruption in government. I share the same opinion; I've always believed that even in a free society, a democratic society, there will always exist corruption. There will always be those who are greedy and care about nothing but their own well being. .
The society in the book is an optimistic and very democratic one. The fundamentals in which their society is based on reminds me of those of any democratic form of government. They have certain laws that form the core of their society; this can be compared to our Canadian constitution. The Seven Commandments of Animal Farm form the basis of their new community. The most important law that exists in the Seven Commandments is the seventh commandment.
