Alexander Hamilton

I, Alexander Hamilton was born on the Island of Nevis in the British West Indies. Even though my date of birth is unsure I was born more than likely around January 11, 1755. I am the Son of Mr. James Hamilton and Mrs. Rachel Fawcett Lavien. For my formal education I traveled to New York in 1772 where I began grammar school. Years later I attended Kings College, which is now known as Columbia University. Being so eager to be successful in life I left college on 1776 without graduating.

Some of my major accomplishments that are well redound are, in 1776 I became captain of a company of artillery and, a year later a lieutenant colonel in the Continental Army, I also joined the staff of General Washington as secretary and aide-de-camp and soon became a close confidant of his. In 1778 I drafted Washington’s report to congress that was on military reorganization; in October of that same year I published my first Publius letter, where I deplored the weakness of Congress. More than two years later I married Elizabeth, who was going to bear eight children for me. I resigned as Washington’s aide-de-camp on April 30 1781. On September 14, 1786 I was a delegate to the Annapolis Convention and I drafted a resolution urging the assembl
