Zero Tolerance

Zero Tolerance has been an issue that many schools have been dealing with for many years. It had been an issue that has been tossed around and debated on whether if it should be acted on in schools or not all over the country. Zero Tolerance eliminates any slack for troublemakers and creates students that break the rules to receive a full and just punishment. But the question that many schools are having trouble answering is, Is the punishment just or not? Many of the opinions on the subject are going to be split because of the variety of people that are effected by it. Most students might not like it because it is a faster way of getting them in trouble or punished. Teachers and Faculty members might love it because it gets all the troublemakers out of their schools. Parents will also like it because it will make them feel like their children are safer when they go to school. But Zero Tolerance allows no room for question what so ever and this creates problems for the cases in which the kids are innocent. In today’s society it is not unlikely for someone to be framed at a school or anywhere for that matter. There are cases where people are framed every day, and never actually commit the crime they w

Zero Tolerance needs to be taken out of schools permanently. If this is impossible then a compromise should be made or at least a system that is not so harsh on it’s own citizens. If the system was slightly lighter it might be supported more. The new establishment should involve a second chance because if the people that commit these crimes are stupid enough to do it twice then there would be no problem giving them the proper punishment. Zero Tolerance means well but isn’t always carried out with fairness. The system isn’t wrong but it defiantly needs improvement. But if schools and administrators are not willing to understand the framed, mistaken, and people that need their help most then there is no hope.

Zero Tolerance punishes people for making mistakes. No one in the world is perfect, and there isn’t a person in the world that hasn’t made at least one, but Zero Tolerance seems to forget this. Pier Pressure is just one example of many that has been causing people to do tings they do not want to do for many years. All people have experienced this pressure and it has been an aspect of life that society has had to deal with, but punishment is certainly not going to help. If parents their kids for every little thing or give second chances kids would never get the chance to prove themselves and become a better person. Even criminals today receive a second chance and wh
