Personal Narrative

If a person is in a life threatening situation, their entire body focuses on one thing and nothing else: To survive. When someone is scared for their life, they can end up doing really bizarre things that they normally wouldn't do if they were calm and thinking straight. Sometimes we think were in danger when we really aren't. I remember a particular experience in my life when I thought my life was in jepoardy.
It was Friday and I was free for the weekend. I decided to stay over my friend's house that night. His mom wasn't going to be home, so we could do whatever we wanted. We ended up playing video games until three in the morning. I eventually dozed off while we were watching a movie. Suddenly I awoke in total darkness. I didn't know where I was until I heard my friend say something. He told me that he heard a crashing noise downstairs and that someone broke in the house. He somehow drug me in his closet while I was sleeping, and now I was crouching on the floor, afraid for my life. We didn't know what to do, if we left the closet, the intruder would eventually find us. Our best bet was to stay in there as long as we could until the person left the house. It seemed like we were in the closet for hours, just crouching on the floor. My legs became numb and throbbing until I couldn't stand it any longer. The intruder still didn't leave, but we couldn't stay in there forever. Our final agreement was to somehow get out of the house and call for help. He told me that we were going to go out his window, jump off the roof, and then run to the neighbors to call for help. But we had to be quick if we didn't want to be caught.
