Martial Arts: real self-defense or just Hollywood junk
We’ve all seen martial artists such as Jackie Chan, Jean Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal kicking butt on the big screen. One guy can take on fifteen guys and not even get a scratch on him. I’ve seen actors in movies jump up kick three guys in the face and not even break stride. There is so much you see on the big screen that is junk and special effects. If a guy could single handedly beat the crap out of ten guys and not even one of them land a punch, he would need to have four arms, three legs and eyes in the back of his head. All that flashy stuff is great for the movies, but what about a real street situation with no stunt men or choreographers?

In the street there is no time for the ‘secret swooping crane technique’ or the ‘flying hammer fist’, instead you need to do something quick and easy. Big flashy moves take more time and give your attacker a chance to react. There may only be a millisecond between making it or not.
I’ll give you some examples of when you could use these techniques. If a person approaches you in a threatening way, a good hard kick or knee to the groin or the kneecap will go a long way. Another example of an easy and effecti
