Imagine you are back in time. All the way back to, over a thousand years ago. Shops or story tellers were usually at the banquets around a fire telling their mysterious tale. The tales, like Beowulf mostly consisted of a hero and a villain. Beowulf is an epic poem that takes place during the Anglo Saxon period. Beowulf is the hero in this epic poem. Shops were telling of his story of how he conquered hideous monsters, each one being a bigger task than the last. Beowulf was a well known epic hero at that time and remains to be. He embodied many of the Anglo Saxon hero qualities or characteristics. Beowulf had great physical strength, and was able to kill maybe monsters. He was selfless, as well as fearless. Beowulf is a hero in the eyes of his fellow men because of his amazing physical strength. He fought in numerous battles and returned victorious from all, but one of them.
