Beowulf


            Beowulf is the story of a great warrior and his battles to bring justice. These battles display his courage, glory, and a sense of fate that the Anglo-Saxons strongly believed in. The Saxons admired these great qualities and Beowulf. Beowulf was very skilled in fighting and had great strength not only as a fighter but as a leader. Many of the people looked up to Beowulf. Beowulf starts as a young fearless warrior and grows to be an aged king. All of these qualities help him to become highly respected. Beowulf is a hero of the Anglo-Saxons and is admired as one of the best and bravest kings to ever live. .
             Beowulf was very brave throughout his journey to bring peace. He had great dignity and prowess in battle. A powerful monster name Grendel who lives in the darkness was repeatedly attacking the Great-Hall and murdering all of Hrothgar's men. This monster is said to be the most feared monster. Grendel haunts the moors and was conceived by a pair of monster born of Cain. King Hrothgar's men at the Great-Hall did not show bravery because they ran and hid from Grendel. No one would stand up to this monster. Beowulf heard of this great tragedy occurring and immediately ordered for him and 14 other brave men to go and help fight. After Beowulf arrived, Unferth warned him of the monster's great powers. Unferth says Beowulf has been lucky in the past but his luck might change if he challenges Grendel. Beowulf never ran from a fight. He even claims that he can kill monsters without using his swords and shields. Grendel was surprised to see Beowulf fought back and in the end Beowulf's strength overcame Grendel. A prince of the Geats had defeated Grendel in which no one would stand up to. Beowulf would never give up in battles no matter how injured he would get, In the battle against Grendel 's mother Beowulf got clawed, ripped, and tore art and still chooses to jump back in battle.
