Steve Wozniak

Of all founders of the computer revolution that took the world by fury, there was one person who was unconceivable from the rest and that man was Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer. From the beginning as a young teenager, Steve was in awe of electronics in which he would take apart small electronics and then make improvements to them. He would also take an electronics magazine and find something interesting and would design it and then make it work out of scrap and, as always, make improvements to it. Steve's first encounter with the computer was when he tried to build the Altair 8800. While building the Altair, he met Steve Jobs, whom he knew from high school. Even though the computer went up in smokes after a basic groundwork test, his friendship with Jobs would turn into a new industry. Steve kept on working with his machine even after the failed attempt. He realized that the Altair was in need of a microprocessor, the Intel 8800, to do its thinking. Since he wouldn't afford the price of $120, he turned to a 6502 microprocessor by MOS technologies which were only $25. On April fools day in 1976 both Steve's agreed to start a computer company. After selling a VW van and other electronics, they got $1300 in return and started a company called Apple computer in Steve Wozniak's garage. Steve Jobs was the person who made the deals, begged for orders and got the parts while all Wozniak wanted to be was the engineer. Wozniak created Apple I, the first personal computer. Even though it had many problems and was not very user friendly; the world was amazed by it. After a couple of years, Wozniak created Apple II with 4k memory and few problems. This really kicked off his career and placed him and Jobs on top of the growing computer industry. After another few years, Wozniak created Apple III to compete with the IBM PC. It was not very successful for the company and after that he was practically a toy thrown around at APPLE.
