Upon being promoted to Supervisor, I was asked to consider the following questions:How are you going to translate the success obtained from one store into a multi-store environment? What is going to make you a successful supervisor? The answer was obvious. I am going to have to train and develop my Store Mangers to the same effect that I was trained and developed. I looked at it like this. To be a good Shift Manager, you need to train and condition your crew. To be a good 1st Assistant, you need to train and condition your managers. To be a good Store Manager, you need to train and condition your 1st Assistant(s). To be a good supervisor, I am going to have to train and condition my Store Managers. In order to develop my plan, I first had to look at what I thought made me successful in a single store environment. I then had to see if those same criteria could be applied in a multi-store environment.
