1. Why did you select this book for your summer reading? Does it apply to a particular interest or career choice?
Cassie didn’t always make the right decision. Cassie had a troubled life, she began to hang with the wrong crowd, practice magic, and write hatred letters to her parents, and to her teachers. It wasn’t until later that she would change her life around so that she was doing the right things. Cassie and I share some things in common. One of those is her beliefs. I have been brought up in a Christian family all my life so I have a deep understanding of God. I now Love him and he is Lord of my life just like Cassie. Second, even though over the years I have strained away from him. My family and church family have helped bring me back closer to him.

During this tragedy Cassie mom, Misty Bernall, wanted to find answers to allow her to have some kind of a peace. Bernall was able to write this book based on her own experience. The chapter’s in the book which she describes her daughter’s faults. A few of the examples are the letters that threaten to kill her husband, a teacher, and her. Also the letters and notes that were found after her daughters death. Bernall also was able to recover information from interviews from classmates, friends, and acquaintances of Cassie.
