The racial factor in job searches, in this book, are implied but not explained. Mrs. Ehrenreich shows the audience what, in reality, employers prefer in those which they are considering to hire. Minorities sometimes do not get hired just because of where they came from and the employer is uncomfortable with the person’s origin, “I feel like I’m the foreigner here.
