Fast Love, Fact or Fiction?
Everyone has his or her own opinion about love, but does everyone know the true meaning? In some cases, I think some people don’t know the real significance of being in love. In our generation today, people have a tendency of looking at love in the wrong prospective instead of looking at it in the way God wants us to see it. The different reality shows that have been on television recently prove my point. I believe the people on the shows are lost when it comes to recognizing love. Personally, I believe they just want to be seen on TV. Can love be found at first sight or in six weeks? Love cannot be found too quickly and if so, it will diminish over time.Love at first sight, is it really love? No, because the person doesn’t really know the inner part of the individual to really determine if it is love or not. I don't think that a real relationship can start based on looks alone. I do however believe in infatuation or attraction at first sight. Compatibility, understanding, trust, security, and respect are not present the first time two people meet. Therefore, the strong feeling they feel cannot be love. A person should learn everything there is to know about that particular person, because he or she can be lying
and later on in the future maybe even become a psycho. One afternoon, I began watching a woman on a talk show that was on television. She was telling her personal tragedy story about a man she trusted too soon who ended up raping and beating her. She thought she was so in love, in the three weeks she had known him. Her whole world ended when his attitude changed, and he wasn’t the person she thought he was. Her story is one of the reasons why I don’t believe people can love someone they don’t know. The research that I have studied recently shows that there are over 1,150,000 divorces in the United States every year. People in the U.S. who are marrying too quickly face approximately a 40-50% chance of divorcing in their lifetime. When they first see the person, that tingle, that spark, and that connection is just a misconception. These people believe they are in love because their heart starts beating fast every time they see that particular person. Some people have a propensity of getting love and infatuation mixed up. Attraction comes first then love. A person can be physically attracted to someone’s image, which makes him or her want to explore that person deeper, then that is when love comes in, later. Between the short period of time someone says they are apparently in love, it can easily fade away for different reasons such as, someone better comes along with more interests in common, religion or background differences or something simple for instance, disliking how their toes look. Thus,
