When Disneyland first opened in 1955 in US, many people wondered an amusement park without any of the traditional attractions would succeed. But with its good business policy which well matched with the corporate mainstream culture in US, together with the creative mind of Walt and the business mind of Roy. Disneyland was an immediate success, and as a result, the theme park era was born.The success of US Disneyland is due to the following factors: Firstly, the aim of US Disneyland is to provide family entertainment worldwide. It is a whole new concept in entertainment where parents and children could have fun together. "To make people happy" is the mission statement of US Disneyland. Its success was due to its concern for people. It had a whole-hearted dedication to the happiness of the visitors. The park also paid attention to very specific interactions & attraction points which determines the visitors’ overall satisfaction and likelihood of returning and becoming a loyal customer. The initial financial plan scheme seems too optimistic and fragile. Construction work overspends and makes cost increase by a large margin. With the serious European economic recession, the primary plan that depends on successful condition all lost. Administrative department forbid worker in clothing, headgear and footwear which don’t accord with Disney behavior of image. Euro Disney is named "Cultural Vietnam of U.S.A." by a newspaper. Besides, it lacks the flexible regulation of employees’ working hours. It attempts to bend labor laws and practices concerning lunch breaks and unions. Codes are proved rude and discriminatory, such as wear proper underwear, use deodorant, and maintain a height to weight equilibrium. As a result, Most Euro Disney employees feel that they are working in a labor camp & are insulted. As a consequence, labour turnover is very high with associated heavy training cost. The president should be local people; he should be responsible for upgrading the administrator's idea, abolishing the old " Disney" management style. Also, he should pay attention to reduce the cultural difference among different regions. There are a lot of differences in culture and marketing between European Disney and American Disney. Thinking that the Europeans seldom pay attention to breakfast, the mangers in Euro Disneyland downsize the availability of breakfast. Besides, it does not offer drinks and alcohol beverage in the park. As a result, the demand for its food is limited. Disney also thinks that Monday is a light day for visitors and Friday a heavy one, and allocates staff accordingly. But the reality was the reverse. Worse still, it wants to impose its American standards of dress, behavior, and morality on the operations of its French-based park. For example, when it hires employees, it looks for those who have American look; it greatly affects the morale of the employees & makes them rebellious.
