Biological and Chemical Warfare Safety

Introduction: According to newspaper headlines and news casts, American people really need to understand what the full impact might be if a chemical or biological weapon was released into the public. There are various weapons of mass destruction such as small pox, anthrax, nerve gas and even radiation or nuclear weapons that prospering and adversary countries have possession of, or are developing. They can be released in several different ways such as, through animals, by mistake, or even as a terrorist act. Even though the United States possesses such weapons of mass destruction, they have not yet used them in defense to a war or terrorist act. But based on recent situations, the probability of another terrorist attack or mishap is very high.

Thesis: America never thought about these situations coming to effect in the U.S, but now it is time to face reality.

Throughout history there have been several scares due to the release of a biological weapon. From anthrax to botulism from small pox to Ebola, the threat of a biological weapon being released has overtaken our fear, of the use of a biological terrorist attack. First of all, the attackers can never be sure that the weapons they use will not affect their own people. If used, diseases caused by germs will not infect tons of people due to the fact that most agents are not contagious enough. The use of a biological weapon against these nations may result in some deaths, maybe even thousands, but not on the scale most fear.

Households that can help themselves in the result of an attack won’t waist the needed resources for those who are un prepared.
