            A Time to Kill is a novel written about how a ten-year old black girl named Tonya.
             Hailey's life was shattered when two rednecks beat and raped her, and then how her father took the law into his own hands and decided their punishment himself. Tonya was walking home from the grocery store when the two rednecks, Billy Ray Cobb and Pete Willard, saw her. They threw full beer cans at her, breaking her flesh right down to the bone.
