According to the U.S. Department of Justice somewhere in America a women is raped every two minutes. Imagine your five year old child looking up at you and asking, “Mommy who is my Daddy?” Would you like to be put in the situation of answering this question? No single mother would like to deal with this, but what if you didn’t know who the father was? What if you were raped? The Bureau of Justice Statistics, 1996,

A women is diagnosed with a tubular pregnancy, what is she supposed to do? For this type of scenario I feel the women should have the choice of an abortion. A women whose embryo is developing in her fallopian tubes will cause death to the mother if not dealt with. An embryo nor the mother can live with in this situation. Unfortunately this is a lose, lose situation. On the other hand what if a mother did not want the baby but had no choice but to have the baby. As for most mothers she would die for the baby but then that baby would have no mother. To add to this tragedy the father wants nothing to do with the new baby. The only option left now for the infant is adoption and or foster-care. As most people do know that adoption and foster care generally has negative side effects. These effects such as anger, depression, and uncertainty are more prevalent in teens. This is all more than enough to prove that women should have the right to choose!

Each and every day people are faced with all types of choices. Some choices are very controversial others very unimportant, but they are still choices. People’s choices have made America what it is today, so why restrict the things we choose to do. The reasons that women get abortions vary, but to the women that is the thing they feel they should do. Whether it is because of age, rape, or health reasons she should be able to control how her life goes. I feel that the choice of having an abortion or not is up to the women and should stay that way. It is her life and her way of pursuing her happiness.

Thesis: I believe each women should be able to have the choice to have an abortion.
