Alcohol

Legally when teen-agers turn eighteen, they are classified as adults. Their parent sends them off to “conquer” the world. They are able to enter the military and be drafted, go to college, get a job and are able to support a marriage if needed to, along with children. In addition to paying taxes and having the right to vote, they are set free and the rest of their life is in their hands. Now alcohol may mess many young adults life’s up. Even though they are legally allowed to do all these new things, alcohol is still not one of them. So basically they are allowed to have families and defend our country but not have a drink. Many young adults do drink illegally and more than half of the them result in bad outcomes. Alcohol is one of the most deadly drugs obtainable and biggest drug problems that face young people today.

Even though alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs out there today, which cause possibly the most life threatening problems, young adults still do it. There are many reasons why a young adult under the legal drinking age, 21, will pick up a drink. This problem with alcohol occurs all over the country in schools, families, and colleges. The first, and probably the strongest, reason why young

In surveys by the National Institute on drug abuse says that at least eight million teens are involved in alcohol every week. Some of the most shocking effects occur within college students. Many students die each year because of alcohol. Out of the nation’s 12 million undergraduates, about 240,000 to 360,000 will die. Most college students think that they will not have the same result as adults have to drinking; that’s untrue, they have the same. A serious matter that is in every college campus around the world is related to sex. Often young adults go to keg parties and become drunk. They then want to have fun so they find a girl and in the end rape might occur. Not all of them set out in the beginning of the night, but alcohol has influenced them. Ninety percent of college crime and rape is an effect of the use of alcohol. Now because they were drunk at this time, the risk for any diseases is greater because they probably were unprotected. The people making the lowest grades and missing school in college are those that are involves with alcohol.

So in the end is it right for young adults to get married and have a gun but it is not ok for them to drink. The effects of alcohol can be deadly to people, including young adults. The growing process for them can be very stressful, which make them turn to alcohol. In addition to stress personal problems also contribute to drinking. The effects of it are not only short term, but long term also. Young adults don’t finish maturing and growing until the age of 24. It is good for young adults to wait as long as they can so they don’t stunt their growth or have any of these bad effects. Lets just leave it as this; if you drink you have to live with your consequences, whether good or bad so in the end you really lose more in the end.

Poor labeling believe it or not is the fifth reason that causes young adults to drink. If teens go into stores to purchase a drink and had to choose the alcoholic drinks from the nonalcoholic ones, only two of three would be able to. That statement right there proves that the companies producing alcoholic
