Billions of dollars are spent on education by the federal government each year. Our tax dollars are allocated to building the future of our nation's youth, to educate them, and raise them to be productive members of society. Each year we strive to teach our children more, raise test scores, and improve literacy. Teaching children, during their elementary years, a foreign language, is a proven way to achieve these goals, while enriching our children's minds. It is important that the governments allocating funds for education consider funding and promoting bilingual education immersion programs at an earlier age so the majority of our nation's youth that are not presently offered this opportunity are not left behind. The correlation between immersion programs and higher test scores and higher grades in all areas of study, including a child's native language, English, is astounding. It is simply unfair to deny 100% of students this opportunity. This is not to say that all!
