Meeting new people is a whole new ball game now. Not only do we go out with our friends and meet people at clubs, but we also, but we also meet new people in chat rooms. If you are familiar with a computer you know that you sometimes receive “pop-up” messages from another internet user. Or maybe you know hundreds of chat rooms that you can go into and talk to thirty people at one time. Sometimes you might get lucky and meet someone that lives somewhere close to you. I know that I have met people online and we talk all the time, some talk on the phone with me and in person occasionally. Just last week I met another freshman from SWT that actually lives in my dorm on the floor right below me. We talk all of the time now and are becoming good friends. I think computer communications have actually helped me meet other students. I don’t have to worry about anything, but being myself. With our innovative world of technology the party scene is only one of the many ways to gather with new people. Even in the early part of the century, you would have really only met you neighbors and you lived in such a small town that that was everyone in the town. With computer knowledge you now have the option to go out and socialize or stay in the comfort of your own home and meet people.

Having a computer is convenient because we can use it in the safety and comfort of our own home. With new technology advancing everyday we can do so many things at home.
