Frisbee

One of the oldest fads today is Frisbee. The Frisbee is a plastic disk the size of a plate at about 9”-11”. It weighs between 2.5 to 5.6 ounces. It is usually thrown with a flick of the wrist. By throwing it this way it creates a clockwise spin and a forward motion. By changing the way you throw the Frisbee it can curve, hover, flip, or even be thrown in a straight line. It was called the “Pluto Platter.” In the year 1957 Walter Morrison then sold his patent to the Wham-O Manufacturing Company. In 1959 the Wham-O Co. altered the spelling and named it the Frisbee. The toy has changed very little in the past fifty years since its birth. People still love to play Frisbee today.
