Our business is going to be a Limited Liability Corporation. The reason that we have chosen this is because we would like to have a share in the company, but because we need a large sum investment from an outside partner, this leaves us with this kind of organization. We cannot be a Partnership, because Chevron does not enter into dealer agreements with Partnerships.
The kind of business that we are running is giving a service. We don’t sell anything that we make ourselves. We are providing gasoline to the public where it can be easily accessed during their commute. Our goal is to make stopping at the gas station a more pleasant experience. Not like going to the dentist to have some teeth pulled.
Because we are entering into business with Chevron, this would of course make us a franchise. We decided to go into a franchise because that seemed to be the easiest route. There are already people who are successful from owning and operating a Chevron. Plus it is convenient that they supply everything for us. This makes it so we can concentrate more on the service aspect than the business arrangements.

There will always be people working steady jobs on Swan Island. So having consistent cash flow shouldn’t be a problem. Of course there are going to be really slow times, which will come during the wee hours of the night. There is also going to be times when we will probably have more customers than we know what to do with. These times will most likely come during the rush hour traffic. Basically between the hours of 7 and 10 in the morning, and the hours of 3 to 6 in the afternoon. We expect the majority of our money to come during the week. Since Swan Island is an industrial area, there are not a lot of people going down there on the weekends to have a good time. One thing that we can count on during the summer is the weekend traffic that will come due to the boating dock. But during the times of winter those weekend warriors probably won’t be seen to often.
When picking a location for our business, we wanted it to be in an area that was very convenient and easily accessible. Finding a road that has busy through traffic, and not on some side street. What we came up with was a little lot that is for sale on the corner of Anchor St. and Basin Ave. at the bottom of the hill. This way we are able to draw in
