Risk takers have always been prominent in business affairs since the early years of the world. They have been willing to do anything to make money even if it means the risk of losing money. The old saying says “the bigger the risk, the bigger the potential benefit”. McDonald’s restaurant, one of the most highly recognized names in the world today, was started by crazy risk takers and their finished product is not even finished yet. McDonald’s Restaurant was started in 1955 in Des Plaines, Illinois. The restaurant was named after brothers, Dick and Mac McDonald, but the pioneer and person who made McDonald’s famous was Raymond Albert Kroc, a risk-taking salesman who mortgaged his house and spent his life savings on creating Mulitmixers. The McDonald brothers had already opened up a restaurant in San Bernardino, California. The reason for Kroc being so enthusiastic about opening new restaurants was because of a five-spindled milkshake maker called the Multimixer. He was the exclusive distributor of any Multimixer anywhere, so he moved out west. As for quality and safety, McDonald’s holds these as some of their most important qualities in their corporation. These days, quality and safety at an economical price are what make profits anywhere. McDonald’s reassures its customers with low-price, high quality guarantees. The corporation gives out an annual award, the Sweeney Quality Award, to its suppliers who display the most quality and satisfies the company’s needs the best. The executives at McDonald’s wish to uphold the standards established by its forefathers and pioneers by maintaining and in some cases, raising the standard level for its suppliers, employees, franchisees, and other affiliates. McDonald’s also incorporates a sense of helping and sharing expertise of safety and quality learned by workers throughout society. an eight Multimixer at one time. The brothers agreed that Kroc should run their restaurants so started the chain of what has become the largest fast-food restaurant chain in the world. The McDonald’s in Des Plaines is now a museum of McDonald’s memorabilia including the famous Multimixer. The first day’s revenue for McDonald’s was $366.12, not bad for an opening day.
