Hitler

A leader is someone who uses his or her intellect to guide others. Some leaders change the lives of people drastically and go down in history, whereas other leaders cause little change and fade into history and are forgotten forever. Adolf Hitler started out as an ordinary solider in World War I. He then became the dictator of almost all of Europe starting in 1933. His power then continued to grow drastically making him one of the most memorable leaders in history. His usage of propaganda and the German Army assisted him in conquering numerous parts of Europe. Hitler used the ideas of fascism, propaganda, and manipulation; he caused the biggest threat to democracy in the 20th century, and changing the century tremendously.

Adolf Hitler’s originally goal for life was to be a successful artist. After several family problems and his rejection from art school he decided to take a different path in life. In 1919, Hitler became fascinated with politics and at the same time fell in love with German culture and German nationalism, although he was from Austria. Hitler had first set off to Vienna to study art; by the time he had left he had learned the ideas of racial hatred, specifically against the Jews, personal neurosis

One of the most horrible and memorable actions that Hitler performed and that are still remembered and effecting people today, were the acts against the Jews. He started out by turning the citizens of Germany against this religious group, next he took their rights away, and finally he placed them in concentration camps and exterminated millions. These vicious acts against the Jews left a permanent mark on the people of the twenty-century, and are still in the minds of people today. This horrible treatment against the Jews was only one way that Hitler changed the twentieth century.

On March 5, 1933, after the election, Hitler and his Nazi party started to breakdown the existing government and Hitler became the dictator of Germany. Hitler had started a secret police force called SS officers, who fought those opposing Hitler as the leader and paved the path for Hitler to take over. The Nazi party had ended democracy and they did it legally. The German people were looking for stability since they were in the middle a depression, along with the rest of the world. Hitler had promised the people that he would help them out of this depression, so not many opposed to him being the dictator. There was a massive amount of people who wanted to join the Nazi movement; so many that memberships had to be frozen. Hitler’s plan was underway as the first act of hatred towards the Jewish people started. Hitler convinced his people to boycott shops that were owned by Jewish people. In May of 1933, Hitler demanded that all books were to be burned. This marked the end of Jewish intellectualism. Soon after the first concentration camps were started to form outside of Berlin.

Hitler suffered other repercussions for his actions during the rebellion against the government of Germany. For two years he was no longer allowed to speak in public because of certain threats that he had proclaimed during some of his speeches. As a result, Hitler was forced to use propaganda to gain popularity amongst the people. Hitler learned to master this art of propaganda from the pamphlets that America and Great Britain used during World War I. He knew that the only way that the masses would start to follow him was if he used a few select points and repeated them over and over again until they stuck in the people’s heads. He used the idea of a single enemy to encourage his people to go to war. He had manipulated his people to believe his ideas and assist him in his growth as a leader.

Now that Hitler has gained recognition from the German people, he starts to strive for his ultimate goal, take over Germany and eventually the rest of Europe. He starts by trying to take over the current government in Germany. The Germany government made a big mistake when they decided to resume payments for their war debts. The German people became very upset. Hitler felt that this was the perfect time for him and his party to step in and take over. Hitler and Mussolini were close friends and Hitler was greatly influenced by him. So when it came time to revolt against the German government, Hitler decided to use one of Mussolini’s tactics. Hitler and the Nazi party attempted their revolt using the “Black Shirts” that Mussolini used, but instead they used guns that couldn’t fire rather than clubs. The revolt didn’t s
