How Has Technology Changes The News Media
How Has Technology Changes The News Media? Technology in the news media is a real important thing in order to get news to many people throughout the world. We depend a great deal on the news to broadcast us information on tons of topics that get us through everyday life. Throughout the years news media technology has changed dramatically. One of the ways that news media technology has changed is through the weather. Weather forecasts are vital in everyday life to plan out are day. Although weather is a tough thing to predict with new and better technology, meteorologists are able to do so effectively. Second news media technology has changed is through how we get financial news. Financial news such as the Stock Market, which many people make their living on. They need to know how their stocks are doing and need the equipment to do on the spot trading and buying. Another way news media technology has changed is through the Internet. Internet technology has also changed a great deal over the past years and many people use the Internet to get their daily news rather watch the news on TV. There are numerous uses for the Internet but getting news media is on of the biggest. Those are just a few ways that the news media
The change in the news media technology has effected how the weather us brought to us. The weather would not be brought to us without very high tech satellites orbiting around the earth’s atmosphere. There are two types of satellites that watch weather. For example “Geostationary satellites are called "GOES" for Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite" (Reference 7). The images that are on TV and throughout the Internet are from “GOES”. The other kind of satellite is called Polar-orbiting satellites. According to the text “Polar orbiting satellites orbit over the North and South poles about 530 miles above the Earth. Their lower orbits mean their view is more limited, but they have a more close-up view” (Reference 7). According to the text “Communication satellites are radio relay stations, called repeaters. They orbit high above the earth” (Reference 3). With satellites we can log on to the Internet and get live local radar to see what kind of weather conditions are in our area. Or you can see what weather systems are approaching the area and with technology meteorologists can see what day the storm will arrive. Without satellites our daily lives would change drastically. We would not know how hot or cold it is going to be and we would not be able to pick out the proper clothing for the day. Also we would not know if it is going to rain and whether or not to take an umbrella. Finally, we would not know what the weather is like in other places throughout the world so we could plan out things like our vacations and trips. That is how technology has changed the news media in the way of weather. Financial technology has become very high tech over the years with new and improved equipment coming out all the time.
