How The Red Cross Letterworks As A Tool Of Persuation

The first thing that captures a human eye and attention are the three photos on the top of the front page. The photos grow intensively from left to right as you are looking at them. These photos show the suffering, poverty and horrible conditions that the people have to live in, in their daily lives. The first picture is of a landscape; this picture tells us that the problem exists. There is a background of snow, which tells that winter has arrived and that it is cold. When we know about the details we are more willing to donate the money. The letter encourages us to give where there are three options – you can donate five, ten or fifteen pounds. It encourages us to give with a feel- good factor.

People believe that if they donate money to the British Red Cross it is the best way to help the victims because they are provided with the best help they can get.

Calendar pads are placed in the letter for an important purpose. They act as a visual reminder. It’s a motif, a constant reminder that time is ticking away and that it is running out of time for the people. The Calendar pads starts at February 14th and stops at April 14th, which
