Legalization Of Marijuana

One very controversial subject in America is over the legalization of marijuana. Many American citizens agree with me that marijuana should be legalized in all states for medical reasons, as well as for recreational use as well. Many agree that this would end a lot of violence on the streets. Ever since the sixties this has been an ongoing effort for millions of Americans. There has never been a documented case of overdosing due to excessive use of marijuana. There are millions of Americans who use this drug illegally every day to calm their nerves, and just to relax.

On the west coast this is a much more acceptable idea. In Alaska there are laws against marijuana however, law enforcement refuses to punish individuals who grow up to two plants. In California when you are caught with a misdemeanor amount of weed (under a ½ ounce) the cops usually just take it instead of taking you to jail because they have more important things to do, like catch murderers, robbers, and rapists. In a lot of cases even on the east coast there are a lot of crooked cops who smoke marijuana, and sell it to make a better living for them selves and their families.

Many people claim that the only people using and selling

Marijuana is the only illicit drug that has never had a fatality because of overdosing. This drug has never been proven to be addictive in any way. Alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine are what I believe to be the worst drugs in the world because they are some of the most addictive drugs in the world (even more so than cocaine, and met amphetamines) and the most acceptable drugs used in the world. So many people die each year from liver cancer due to the abundance of alcohol used during the span of their lives. Even more people die from lung cancer than there are fatalities in car accidents, shootings, and suicides each year due to the drug nicotine. These drugs have been legal ever since this great country has been here. When the government presented prohibition to the American people they went crazy and began finding ways around the law and killing people to get what they needed, which was alcohol. This is what adolescent kids are doing every day in the nicest of neighborhoods in America, the sons and daughters of the most prominent men and women in America. Not to mention that these same people that run our country, and make up the laws are the people making most of the money off illegal drugs in The United States. They are the people paying our customs agents to allow not only marijuana, but also other illicit
