Knowing Dowing Gap
In which of two decision making models, Rational and Carnegie, are we more likely to see the emergence of a knowing-doing gap? Why? How might an Egyptian organization go about overcoming that gap?The knowing doing gap is a major problem that faces most of the organizations, not only in Egypt, but also allover the world. Is the knowing doing gap really a problem? Yes, it's a problem, and actually it can be a very serious and destructive problem that will have severe consequences, that will shackle the progress of any organization. The knowing doing gap have a lot of consequences that ends by the deterioration of the organization. One of those consequences is that the company fails in coping with any rapid changes that happens in the environment. Also it stops the people from turning the knowledge and decisions taken into action, which ends by having a lot of wonderful plans, and theories that are never used by the organization. In those lectures and studies they were taught how to talk smartly and the person is given the grade for his achievements in writing good ideas with complex and complicated words. Lack of practical training, and human nature makes managers tend to let talk substitute for action as talk carries less risk.
