Kyoto Treaty

The world is very complex, consisting of activities that allow people to live and function properly. Years ago, the earth was beautiful, skies were clear and smog-free, the ocean was rare with toxins and people did not suffer from the horrid air pollution. The industrial revolution came into effect, as technology brought the world into new possibilities. These new ideas brought along pollution, where automobile exhausts and power plant released toxins into the air. The increased amount of these harmful gases into the earth's atmosphere has eventually caused a problem that could warm up the earth. This warming effect is commonly called global warming. Its effects on the future are unknown. Global Warming has been slowly heating up the earth due to human activity and natural happenings. By working together to create long term solution for our future a group of people came up with a plan. They put down all their complaints and set rules and regulations for them and named it the Kyoto treaty. Although the climate will always be ever changing the Kyoto treaty is a plan to help the atmosphere become more clean, learn about what people are doing to the air, the presidents point of view, and how this will effect our lives know and in the

No one really knows who is in charge of cleaning up the atmosphere. No one took it into his or her own hands until it could not be pushed aside anymore. It has caused the atmosphere to become trashed just like the oceans. It is another tragedy of the commons. No one does anything till the problem become so big that it starts to kill people.

The Kyoto treaty is an issue dealing with global warming around the universe. Many developing countries and administrations have endorsed this treaty. The amounts of air pollution that is released in to the air and levels of particular gases that have been discovered will reduce, if the treaty is agreed upon to cut down on the amount of gases and limit our daily activities to a minimum. This would require the United States to cut down on the amount of energy being consumed. “All this could be achieved by taxing fuels like oil and coal. This would cause a distinctive upgrade on the U.S. goods and less competitive with goods from places like Mainland China, which do not need to do anything to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions”(5). The Kyoto agreement would likely reduce the gross domestic product of the United States by 2.3 percent per year if fully complied with. According to the climate model of the National Center for Atmospheric Research the Kyoto emissions would reduce mean planetary warming by 0.19 degree Celsius over the next fifty years. “If costs of preventing additional warming were to remain constant, Kyoto treaty would cost a remarkable twelve-percent of the GDP per degree of warming prevented annually over a fifty year period”(6). The Kyoto treaty will not demonstrate climate change but will easily show the affects of the economic damage that will occur if nothing is done.
