The Effects Of Abortion

The controversies of abortion are somewhat the topic of many debates. Many people believe abortion is a moral issue, but it’s a constitutional issue. Abortion has been around for thousands of years in every inhabited corner of the globe. The fight between pro-life and pro-choice supporters has been long and brutal. This is because, despite what several people may believe, abortion is neither right nor wrong. It is a matter of personal opinion.

Approximately 43% of American women will have one (or occasionally more) abortions during their lifetime( abortion). Women's centers and hospitals perform more than a million abortions per year(abortion). Abortions are obviously in great demand. But why? Women have many reasons for not wanting to be pregnant, which drives them to what they first believe is their only choice, abortion. Many reasons women seek abortion are related to their age (most are under 25), their marital status (most are unmarried; many are separated from their spouse) or their economic status (many are poor)(abortion). In the United States of America, abortion is a women's own right and choice. In 1973 the Roe v. Wade decision proved this by recognizing abortion as a fundamental constitut

request of the women without any restrictions in the first trimester and some restrictions in the second trimester to protect the women's health (roe v. wade). The National Abortion Right Act League argues that without legal abortion women would be denied their constitutional right of privacy and liberty (roe v. wade). The women's right to her own body subordinates those of the fetus and the U.S. Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade argued that the women's "right to privacy" overruled the fetus's right to life (roe v. wade). If abortion was illegal it would force poor women to bear and raise children they can't afford to bring up. There would be a number of unsafe abortions in back allies. It would also force women to give up their dreams and stay home to bring up babies. Worst of all, it would condemn victims of incest to carry and nurture the offspring of their rapist.
