This advertisement was designed to appeal to young adults who want the look that the models in the photographs have. The look being: atheletic, healthy, fun-loving, independent, unique, and casual in a well-dressed mannor. The advertisment is ment to make you think that these clothes will bring you these attributes, and then in turn these attributes will bring you attention and autonomy. It's not neccesarily so, but it could happen and that's what motivates us to buy.

The photographs in this advertisement appeal to the younger generation’s need for attention. Human need for attention is explored in Jib Fowles statement, "The desire to exhibit ourselves in such a way as to make others look at us is a primitive, insuppressible instinct. The clothing and cosmetic industries exist just to serve this need, and this is the way they pitch their wares (page 438)."
