Niccolo Machiavelli

The Renaissance peroid wasa marked by a number of changes in military and political affairs of Western Europe.Niccolo Machiavelli born on May 3 1469 and spent his childhood in Florence of the Medici. In 1498 he joined a civil service under the republican regime of Piero Soderini. He also served as Secretary to the Ten of Liberty and Peace and was secretary to the Nine for Militia and Second Chancellor of the city. He was also credited with the singlehanded creation of the Florentine Militia. On June 22 1527 Niccolo Machiavelli died, he was known as the father of modern political science.

Niccolo Machiavelli chose an approach to the ruling powers be by writing a number of books to bring him to their attention. His most famous book was The Prince, he also wrote The Discourses on the First Ten Books of Titus Livy, The Discourse on the War with Pisa, Report on the Fortifications of Florence. He also wrote The life of Castruccio Castracani, The Art of War, Dicourse on Reform of the Government of Florence, and the History of Florence. Niccolo wrote plays like Mandragola, Clizia, Belfagor, and A Discourse on Language. He composed poetry like On Ambition, The First Decade, and Ass of gold.


Joseph Stalin was a Russian leader from 1929-1953 and began to sercet governmental program called the KGB. Joseph Stalin used all three of Machiavelli’s theories. He rose to power with starting as the General secretary of the partyt’s Central Committee. After Lenin died he used the control of his party to crush his opponents. He used assassination to eliminate all those that stood in the path of his reign.

He was overconfident thinking he could take over the world without allies, still many feared him, but his homeland thought of him as a god. He committed suicide in the spring off 1945 after WW2 ended.
