Organizational Ethics
My Religion, Personal Values and Mission Statement & In this paper I will examine my philosophy of life including the origin and nature of the universe and humankind. As a Roman Catholic, I subscribe to the monotheist belief that there is one true Supreme Being. My personal values and mission; how I believe I should live my life, and finally the organizational values and business ethics of the company of which I am employed. I relate the Catholic religion most closely with Utilitarianism because it is concerned with consequences, but also seeks the greatest good for the greatest number of people. There is only one way in which I can explain my beliefs of how the universe and mankind originated and that is to quote from the Holy Bible. "In the beginning, when God created the universe, the earth was formless and desolate. The raging ocean that covered everything was engulfed in total darkness, and the power of God was moving over the water". Then God commanded, "Let there be light" and light appeared. I truly believe in the monotheist conception of God as creator, ruler and judge. The God of the Bible is transcendent as well as immanent; although in some sense he is present everywhere and all the time. He is also beyond or outside the world of things in space and time, for he is the creator of the whole physical universe. There are long- standing philosophical difficulties with this transcendent existence. The different ways of knowing this to be true are as follows:
