Oskar Schindler was born in 1908 in Svitavy in the Czech Republic. As he was growing older, he engaged in studying engineering, raced motorcycles and served in the Czech Army. He did all this before he became a sales manager of electrical items. Around 1937 the German government recruited him as a spy. He was to spy on Poland when he went on business trips there.
In 1939 Schindler moved to Kraków. He ran an enamelware factory
