Phobias & Stress
There are many different psychological symptoms that people are affected by all across the world. These symptoms can range anywhere from very common anxiety disorders to the unusual cases of depression. In my case, the two major symptoms that affect me are a simple phobia and a few stress management problems. You may be thinking what is a simple phobia is; well here is your answer. Simple phobias are fears of any specific objects or situations that are irrational and interfere with normal activities. With the issues concerning stress management and trying to balance out my social and academic lifestyles, I have come to realize that getting advice and learning how to better deal with stress is my only solution. The first step is to become aware of the issues that are the root of my constant worries. My worries range from various school related issues, to family related problems, and of course I can’t forget my friends. Overall these two symptoms can be dealt with if I just take time to myself, organize my thoughts, and figure out what needs to be done to overcome my troubles.People may think my phobia is not serious at all, but cats are my worst nightmares. They seem so harmless and innocent but their
This leads me to the next area of stress related problems. My family seems to always rely on me, on every matter possible. They expect me to be there for any and everything that may come up, no matter how busy I may be or what other important things I may already be doing. Living at home is one of my biggest problems. I never have time for myself unless I'm sleeping, and even then someone wakes me up because they claim I sleep too much. I think my mom is going through menopause or something because she is always flipping out and yelling about something or someone. My sister just turned six-teen and she is going threw that moody stage, and my father has completely changed, and at this point I can only relate to him. He always has something to say to me and actually takes the time out to ask me how I'm doing. Sometime it just gets to a point when it’s way too much to handle and I can’t helped but get even more stressed out. sister came back, she noticed that my left cheek was bleeding, the ugly furry black cat scratched me and now I'm scarred for life. Another time I can remember having a bad experience with a cat is when I was playing in park with some friends, when all of a sudden a white and gray house cat was got lose from a nearby residence; it ran straight towards me. I instantly jumped out of the sandbox and ran directly for the monkey bars to get away from it. I remember climbing up the monkey bars as fast as possible and sitting at the top until my mother came and helped me down. Still to this day, I ask myself why that cat ran straight for me and not for anyone else. I have come to the conclusion that they are really out to get me and not anyone else. Ever since these as well as countless other incidents, I have always been afraid of cats. It does not make a difference weather they are stray cats, house cats, or even wild zoo cats. In general I have always been afraid of them. Even to this day, I can recall many times where just the sight of a cat has made me scream at the top of my lungs. I realize that it shouldn’t be such a big deal, because it is just a cat, but I feel no one can ever understand why it is so hard for me to overcome. I have tried many times to control my fear, however ever single time I am instantly taken back to all of the bad experiences I have suffered from since my childhood till now.
