Celebrities are just common people that are in the public view all the time. The media is just waiting for them to mess up, so these celebrities can be exploited. Since celebrities are still human, they still commit crimes select other humans commit. For example, Bobby Brown has been arrested for drunk driving, George Burns was convicted of smuggling jewels past US Customs, and Gary Coleman was arrested for not paying fines for punching an autograph seeker. Even our next President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, was arrested in 1976 for DUI charges. This award is presented to the celebrity that in the past few years has proven to the American public that they are truly the most criminal of all celebrities. Factors taken into consideration in looking at the nominees for this award: multiple offenses, seriousness of the offense, publicity, controversy, and the punishment given to these well-known citizens. The nominees for this year’s “Most Criminal Celebrity” are: Robert Downey, Jr.- Mr. Downey, Jr. has had a few slight problems with heroin and cocaine in the last couple of years. Orenthal James Simpson: Better knows as simply OJ, Mr. Simpson was tried for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman who were viciously hacked to death. After months of daily televised court scenes, OJ Simpson was acquitted of both murders. The case was just as much about race and police mistakes as it was about murder unfortunately. ng under the influence of heroin, and for a concealed weapon. The “Most Criminal Celebrity” award shows how music, television, sports, and movie celebrities in one particular way are very much similar to the public.
