“Remember the Titans” is a Must See “Remember the Titans” is a must see sports drama, dealing with issues of racial injustice and integrated teamwork. Throughout the entire movie, the talent of the cast brings the movie to life. Based on a true story, the movie exhibits a lesson on how we have advanced as an integrated society today, and that people’s actions and feelings toward each other have changed in only a few decades. The movie received excellent reviews, and may be enjoyed by any type of viewer because of it’s PG 13 rating. The movie begins in 1971, plotting two high schools in Alexandria, Virginia, who had been separated by their racial status. They were merged into one called T. C. Williams High School. This was much to the protest of countless townsfolk, who at that time, believed racial mixing was an insult and unnecessary. The film is an American classic because of our pride in football and pride in our country of equal opportunities. Furthermore, being based on a true story, “Remember the Titans” brings a strong realization that our American society has not always functioned as one. It provides a classical example that for most of us, it was a struggle to overcome pride and help stop segregation in our country.
