Routine

In life, there are many people that are too caught up in the flow of their daily life. These people tend to forget about important events and get into accidents. The reason for this is that they run around all day trying to accomplish an unrealistic amount of tasks. These people don't realize that if they took a minute to manage their time, and set a schedule for them selves, they would get more accomplished in the long run. Having a set schedule enables someone to use their time efficiently and not have any dead time in their day. According to The American Heritage College Dictionary, routine is defined as, "a prescribed, detailed coarse of action to be followed regularly; a standard procedure.".
A lack of routine can be disastrous for some and essential for others. Without a set routine, one could be forced to move faster than they should be causing them to maybe get in a car accident. Also from this hustling, one may easily forget an event such as their mother's birthday. With a set schedule to keep, time can be set aside to call your mother and wish her a happy birthday. It can tell you exactly how much time you have to get somewhere, therefore reducing the risk of an accident. But for others, this lack of routine is vital to cope with the cycle of life. People need a sporadic lifestyle as not to become a "zombie". For some, routine causes them to become so zoned in on what they are doing, that they don't know what is going on around them. .
Although routine can make an everyday life boring and uneventful, it definitely cuts down on the stress level which is leads many to being miserable. Personally I find routine to be extremely indispensable. A set schedule will force me to make it to class on time. It also cuts down on the stress, which is exceedingly common for a collegiate athlete. A set schedule breaks down my day letting me fit in class, eating, study tables, and practice, without too much trouble.
