The sound of rock music has progressively changed since the era of Elvis and the beetles; artists are becoming more creative and expressive with their music and paving the way for the future of rock. There are many rock bands out right now all of which have their own style and sound. To say that they all sound the same would be untrue. Every band his it’s own way of expressing themselves. There are many ways to classify Rock. You can classify the music by what they sing about or how they sound. Or you can classify a band on how they look. I people who try and classify bands are just wasting their time because no band is going to fit into the same class, because each band is so different .

Opposite of Incubus is the harder rock music like System Of A Down. System is a hard-rock band that unlike most sings about politics. There are not to many bands out who sing about politics and the problems with the world. System has everything from creepy suicide ballads to funny thrash tunes. Serji(lead singer) gives a message in his lyrics urging an end to capitol punishment, a complete ban on handguns and the end of the military. But he is not crazy about it. Serji is the type of guy who can write songs about the drug war and the joys of pogo sticks on the same CD. Unlike most hard-rock bands System Of A Down have intelligent things to say instead of just screaming into the microphone.
There is the dark side of rock music that Marilyn Manson is all about. Manson gives a dark evil side to rock music with lyrics about death and suicide. Creepy tunes and disturbing lyrics is what you can expect from this band. A lot of people blame Manson and other
