Space Colonization
The human race has always held an irresistible urge to venture out into the unknown for the benefit of man, science, and civilization. Throughout the ages the human race has always had an unquenchable curiosity for the unknown. We have always fed that curiosity by expanding our boundaries for the purpose of knowledge. We strive to get a better understanding of our surroundings, and to determine where we as species stand. From this the human race has created science, faith, and religion. These were all created as a result of our developing understanding of our environment, and give reason to everything we discover. Now I myself am not a religious person, so the following statements may hold a biased view. It is my belief that humanity created religion as a justification for the unexplainable. As our species advanced further up the evolutionary ladder we encountered even more things that we could not explain with our current knowledge, thus religion filled the gap in our understanding. As a result of this, religion has been integrated into our developing culture, and now holds an important place for many of us. However human society and culture has evolved enough that science and technology is quickly ca
There will always be a nation which holds a military supremacy, but whoever controls space controls the world, that is supreme control. If anyone had a bunch of warheads pointing at the earth and have the ability to fire at any target, the world would be at their finger tips. That is why the industrialized community, G8 and UN, must form together to create a united space military federation to govern the planet from up above. I see a greater need though for all countries of the world to form a unified government, this is the only way anyone could get enough money to colonize space, and have a multiplanetary defence system. Think big brother, only bigger. Earth contains a limited amount of natural resources which human beings need to keep there standard and progressive lifestyle. There will be a time when we will have exhausted all of the earth’s resources. That is why the next logical step is for human beings to again expand their boundaries to find other useable resources. The vastness of space holds the key to the future of the human species. Our expansion into space is inevitable as the resources of earth run dry and with the eventual overpopulation of earth the human species will have to colonize other planets to suit and their needs and development. Objects such as asteroids, comets, lunar planets and martian planets hold a lot of useable and much needed materials, such as ice, which can be melted into water which is essential for any living organism. They also contain precious and non-precious metals and possibly undiscovered elements. What’s more exciting is we will be able to find new energy sources. We could tap the suns powerful solar rays for energy with giant satellite solar panels; they would continuously be obtaining trillawatts of energy. Imagine unlimited and cheap electricity for everyone! That would hold a tremendous global impact, especially since its clean energy. We would be able to develop the entire undeveloped world, making everyone rich, living in utopia. In Africa and most of the other un-developed world, there are people who dedicate 80% of there time collecting fire wood for energy to cook food and boil water. Now will a global solar power infrastructure we would save countless hours for people in undeveloped parts of the world, giving them time to use that saved time to advance culturally, technologically and commercials, wiping out poverty allowing them to be part of the global corporate pie. That alone holds a huge incentive for our society which depends so much on electricity
