We are all God's creatures. Unfortunately as a human race, the majority of our modern society demotes the less superior members of the food chain to a level of inferiority in which The living creature is susceptible to murder. We as the youth of America have the power to overcome and augment these horrific occurrences in which innocent animals are being slaughtered for the mere consumption of their carcasses. For reasons regarding both health and morality, the practice of vegetarianism leads to an overall all more peaceful existence. "Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution of a vegetarian diet." (Albert Einstein, 1921) Perhaps one of the most common misconceptions regarding a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle is the lack of nutrition received by the practicing individual. The American Dietetic Association states that a well planned vegetarian diet, much like any other, can be successful with a well balanced and consistent nutritional intake. In fact even the human body's teeth and intestines are not designed for eating and digesting animal products. There is no nutritional need for humans to consume animal products of any kind. The nutr
ients that may be lacking in a vegetarian's diet can be replaced by various alternatives. Complete proteins, in which amino acids are found, are abundant in animal products such as meats, dairy, eggs and fish. These vital proteins are not limited to just animal products. You can combine food containing i! re all wonderful sources as well. Although both animal and plant products posses much nutritional value, devastating, long term health consequences pertain mostly to an individual who consumes animal products. Overall medical studied conclude that a vegetarian diet is easier to digest, provides a wider range of nutrients and keeps our bodies purified. Vegetarians also are less susceptible to diseases that afflict contemporary humanity. More people die each year due to meat consumption than that of the number who die from smoking. The most common cause of death in the United States is a heart attack, killing one person every 45 seconds. By reducing your overall consumption of meat and dairy products by 50% you reduce your chances of a heart attack by 45%. By following a strict vegan diet you reduce your chances by 90%. Another catastrophic killer in the United Stated is heart disease. Heart disease is strongly correlated with elevated levels of cholesterol , which is only found in animal products.. There is a 12% rise in blood cholesterol from consuming one egg a day. There is a 24% rise in heart attack risk from a 12% rise in cholesterol. No dietary cholesterol intake is needed to support human health. As far as us women are concerned: women who eat eggs are 2.8 tomes more likely to get breast cancer. Women who eat meat daily are 3.8 times more likely to get breast cancer. The risks involved with the!
