Tupac Amaru Shaker

Tupac Amaru Shaker: A Study to Determine Whether He is Alive or Dead

I am what I would consider an average teenager involved in school, sports, and friends, but another extremely important aspect of a teenager’s life today is music. Like most male teenagers of today, I am completely infatuated with Hip-Hop Culture. I love every aspect of their lifestyles, especially their music, Rap Music. Most self-respecting Hip-Hoppers know of the greatest rapper to ever walk the streets of this earth, Tupac Amour Shaker. Tupac is more widely know as simply 2Pac or his more recent alter ego, Makaveli. The first time I heard any type of rap music I was intrigued with the fact that they were allowed to use cuss words and no one was correcting them or telling them to stop. It was simply amazing; from then on, I listened as much as I could because those things were totally unheard of in my childhood. Although that is when I began listening to rap, I never really listened. I could decipher the words they were using, better than most kids I knew!

could, but I had never really pieced together what they actually meant. There was, are, and will always be the guys who just rap about killing people, but many rhyme about things fa

r deeper in meaning than that. As I listened to many of Tupac’s songs, I found a deep writer who described things how he saw them. As I listened, I began thinking how great it would be to have a talent such as his. I immediately began working on my singing and songwriting talents. Just when I began to feel as if I was becoming good, I heard horrible news. Tupac had been shot leaving a boxing match in Las Vegas. Seven days later, he was pronounced dead. I was crushed; so was my dream. A man that I saw as invincible because of his profession and lifestyle was dead and no one knew why. Weeks after his death many rumors began to surface that Tupac was alive and had only faked his death. Tupac, alive? It was too good to be true, I began to hear many reasons that prove him to be alive. I lik!

ts to come back but cannot yet, his enemies cried at his funeral, and finally anyone who does not like what he is doing will pay when he returns (Alive 6). As most rap fans know, Tupac changed his name from Tupac to Makaveli. Niccolo Machiavelli was a 16th century Italian war strategist and Tupac was known as a fan of his works (Alive 4). Machiavelli was an advocate of faking one’s own death and returning sometime in the future, therefore gaining respect from one’s enemies for accomplishing such a feat (Alive 4). Machiavelli wrote two books before his death, and the two All Eyez On Me discs are called Book 1 and Book 2 (Sailo 2). On the cover of Tupac album Makaveli, Tupac is posed as Jesus Christ when he was crucified. Tupac might be planning a resurrection as Jesus did (Sailo 2). The producer for Makaveli is ‘SIMON,’ the name of the apostle who helped Jesus carry the cross and one of the first to witness his resurrection. Suge could be this SIMON (Sailo 2). The subtit!

In a 1994 interview Tupac said that if he ever went to jail he would be worse when he came out and that it would be as if he was reborn. He was worse when he got out of prison, and he changed his rap name, which might be considered a rebirth, now all that’s left is a physical rebirth (Sailo 3). In another interview before his death, Tupac said that he wanted to stop rapping and being a gangster so he could get out of the limelight, but that could never happen unless people thought he was dead (Alive 4). In the introduction to one of Tupac’s CDs you hear his voice say, “Suge shot me…” if he did die, this could not have been added; maybe he was foretelling something (Alive 5). In another song he raps: “Payoff the block, evade the cops, cuz I know they comin for me. I be hesitant to reappear, been away for a year, now I’m back my adversaries been reduced to tear, question my methods?” which to the believer, means to pay people to not see anything and avoiding the cops, he wan!

Tupac Shaker was gunned down in a drive-by shooting on Saturday, September 7, 1996, while leaving from a heavyweight fight in Las Vegas with Suge Knight, the CEO of Death Row Records, Tupac’s record company. He was then pronounced dead on September the 13th. This would not be at all important except for that day was Friday the 13th. What an interesting day to be pronounced dead (Alive 1). This swept grief around the world, grief that even I felt. Tupac was cremated only a couple of hours after he was pronounced dead, which went against his only requests to his mother and to Suge Knight. He was quoted as saying that he wished to be buried in his song “Life Goes On,” off his All Eyez on Me CD (Alive 2). The fact that his mother and his best friend went agains
