Freedom is to be independent. Freedom means you have no one looking over your shoulder and telling you what to do as long as it legal. But does freedom really exist? Sure our country gives us the right to own a gun and have free speech, but are these freedoms getting taken away? Our country’s policy is that you can live free as long as it does not infringe on anyone else’s freedom, but in some cases we don’t follow this policy. As Thomas Jefferson had once said “The natural progress for things is for liberty to yield and government to gain control”. This quote by Thomas Jefferson is reality and will only become true as time passes unless we stand up and have them changed. Our country’s freedom of speech has lost its intended meaning. The first amendment of the United States Constitution was made so that citizens could say anything without being denied there right to say what they please.
