Yellow Wallpaper

The plot of the story is about a woman, who for some reason that is unknown to the reader, is crazy. From her point of view, you watch her rapidly descend farther into that insanity, her main focus being the yellow wallpaper in her bedroom. At the beginning, the main character is fixated on how ugly the wallpaper is, it bothers her, and she doesn't like it. She becomes more and more fixated, until she is totally obsessed. By the end she has gone completely nuts and turned in to a raving lunatic.

The main character never really seems all right in this story. At first you're given the impression that the woman has, or is overcoming, some kind of physical illness. But after a while, you come to the realization that she's pretty much screwed in the head. The story doesn't give much background information, or insight into the main character's life. Therefore, the whole time I read it, I was wondering about why she was so messed up, and what, exactly, was going on. There was quite a bit of mystery to the plot, which is ok, cause it kept me thinking, and kept me interested.

The husband was also a mystery to me. It's hard to tell what he has to do with the story, and weather or not he has something to do with his wife's cond

The author is, in my opinion a good writer, and like I said before, she has got a unique perspective. I respect the kind of person who can think outside the normal state of mind. I doubt she was as crazy as the character in the story, but she must have had a few issues to be able to write so convincingly from the point of view of a psychopath. I also think she might have had a very abusive relationship at some point in her life.

The resolution is, well, I think she wanted out of that room really badly. She tells her husband, "I've got out at last, in spite of you and Jane? And I've pulled off most of the paper so you can't put me back." It's as if she sees her self trapped in the wall paper, just trapped in general. Maybe the wallpaper is a metaphor for something she feels is trapping her. If she tears away the thing that is confining her, she can get away and be free.

I still wonder though, what the husband was doing to cause his wife's insanity. I mean, there is a good chance he had nothing to do with it at all, and she was just one very messed up individual. It's just that there were all these little hints that would suggest he did have something to do with it. Like at the end when she tells him that she has gotten out and he cant put her back, and how the guy is alway
